This product is a robust non-pressurized biofilter. Its sensitivity to flow variation and power outages is lower than that of a fluidized sand biofilter. When used in a low-head recirculation system, it can be easily submerged to reduce pump pressure. Since air is used for media circulation, the LSB adds oxygen and removes carbon dioxide. Additionally, we offer blue and green options to prevent algae growth and provide a dark environment preferred by Nitrobacter bacteria.
